| He did the same shit to us. We played on aThurs. and it was pretty dead. At 10:30 the bartender says to us,"Thunder is super-pissed that you guys aren't playing so you need to get started." There were about 10 people there. We say,"There's no one here, we have 2 one hour sets, we were planning on starting around 11:00." "You need to start now", she says. So we play our first set to the crickets and tumble weeds, finish, take a fifteen minute break, start set #2. about 30 or so people show up halfway through our last set. We finish. About 20 minutes pass and the bartender says,"Thunder wants you guys to play more now that there's people here." We say,"Well that's why we didn't want to start until later. Did ya'll think that we wanted to play to nobody?" We explained on the front side of the booking that we had 2 sets, that's it. We passed that info on to her and then asked for our money. Thunder made us wait for an hour then bitched us out for not playing longer. We passed the same info to him and he just grumbled some more. All of that for about $140. I've played in other bands there when it wasn't as slow and he still bitched and grumbled and made us wait for our money. Needless to say I'm not a fan of the fellow. Potentially cool venue, though, all bullshit aside. |
