So Tailgators sent a myspace comment to mandown.

This was my response Open response to Tailgator's defamatory comment
While we appreciate your concerns with our live show, we would like to touch on a few points you have brought up in your "comment", as well as a few about which you have elected to not speak.
contract:
It is to no fault of our own that you did not allow us to conclude our set as planned. We consider you as "owing" gas, time, and inconvenience charges (payable to Paul Lewis, Kevin McKeown, Locke Bowers, or Benjamin Ivey) due to your dismissal of courtesy and ignorance of the bands you booked. We do not expect payment.
The bands in question:
It is understood to me, personally, that you did not even question who you were booking for the event on February 3, 2007. I received no acknowledgment, on behalf of tailgators, that led me to believe that your "venue" even understood the genre of the acts of the evening. The drummer of the band that was to follow us has a reputation of being extremely loud, to an extent far beyond that of ManDown's drummer, Benjamin Ivey.
Neither band is known for being a "radio-rock" band. On most occasions, neither band is expected to play covers. Kiss the Cop was planning on maybe playing one or two. My band, ManDown, was going to play a predominantly cover set to make up for the lack of covers from the other band on the bill. This knowledge, along with a knowledge of the original songs each band was to perform, would likely have allowed us to never have come into contact with your "venue".
The Volume Issue:
We were not responsible for the overpowering drum levels at the "venue", tailgators. The "PA guy" was the person in charge of maintaining a proper level of noise that catered to your needs. You fundamentally have no issue with us. Your issue is with the "PA guy". Furthermore, "the issue" could easily have been resolved had you elected to bring up the volume control problem.
Your "comment":
The fact that you had the balls to leave a defamatory comment on our page and subsequently delete our friendship, an act which removes the possibility for a retort of equal publicity, was an extremely blatant disregard for our status as human beings. It will be understood that you will treat the members of this band, their friends, fans, and family, as people who are owed common courtesy.
I could go on for days about the lack of business ethics exhibited by your "venue" for days, however, I am sick with the flu and am growingly continuously ill as I think about the fact that your venue does somehow manage to maintain an image of respect amongst some number of people in the Moss Point area.
Thank you for your time. I thought we were going to end this at the previous message and with the following phone call (which should have led you to believe that we were left out of the conversation that concluded with us denying payment), but should you wish to further antagonize and harass me and my band mates, I would be happy to write another essay on why I can't think about alligators anymore without wanting to vomit.
