Hello everyone. I recently moved to Mobile, AL with my job and I have decided to get back into playing and hopefully writing and recording my own music eventually.
Right now my job takes a lot of my time but I am getting settled in and some of the projects are starting to settle down. I travel all along the Gulf Coast on a daily basis and I saw a truck with this website's sticker on the back windshield so I thought I would check it out.
I am 35 and have no family down here so practicing and playing would only be affected by my work schedule. I will drive to practice up to 3 hours away but those types of trips have to be very well planned. I have played bass guitar since age 9 and have played in club bands since the age of 16. I have also done some session recording with a few female gospel singers back in Arkansas. I have been on a hiatus for a couple of years but starting to brush up on my playing.
My early influences were STING, Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Billy Sheehan, John Taylor (Duran Duran), Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Juan Crucier (Ratt), and many other Hair Band bassists. Some of my current musical influences include Jane's Addiction, Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age, Clutch, Foo Fighters, Filter, Beastie Boys, Nada Surf, Probot, Seal, Police, Incubus, 311, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck, Damien Rice, and many many many others.
I tend to really like extremely energized hard rock but I have played many styles of music from Rock, Country, Jazz, and even some Gospel.
Because I have a great paying job and I work a lot of hours, I am not looking to be the next permanent member of a band just yet, but if I happen into one that just blows my socks off and the other members like me as well, I would consider it.
What I am looking to do is get back into playing and the best way for me to do that is head first. I have done the fill-in bassist act quite a few times and don't mind doing that. But I have a few pre-requisites that absolutely must happen for me to do that.
1. If you are band or musician that needs me, I need to have a set list and/or recording of the music so that I can learn the songs.
2. I need at least 2 weeks notice before a gig so that I have time to learn the songs and so I can fit rehearsals and the gig into my work schedule. (Especially if the gig is a full 4 or 5 set deal.)
3. I require my equal portion of any paying gig. (If there are 4 members, I receive 1/4 pay. 5 members, 1/5 etc.. Although I have a great job and I want to play for fun, I also want it to be worth while. If the gig is a non-paying variety, I would consider it but it has to be an extremely fun deal with lots of eye candy.

)
I currently play a Fender 4 string Jazz bass and a 4 string Ibanez Roadstar 2. Because of my hiatus, I sold my main rig and currently practice and perform small gigs with an SWR workingman's 12. I am in the process of deciding on what large rig I want and getting my cash together to get it so within the next few weeks, I will have a 15 and 4x10 cab setup with at least a 450 watt head. (Most likely Gallien Krueger.) Although I am 35, I am still 21 at heart and I play with a very intense enthusiasm.
If any of the above sounds like something you need, please don't hesitate to contact me. I can be reached via email at
