If I embezzel money from a charity instead of applying for their assistance, does that make me a criminal? Yes. It also makes the theft all the more deplorable because it exisits to help my ultimate goal in the first place!
My family came to this country, legally, in the 1950's. It was not easy for them, but they followed the rules and became citizens. They also flew the american flag and learned english. For me, that is the true meaning of immigration.
The situation today is the perfect example of "a few (million) bad apples...." I am more concerned for the future honest immigrant who will find it next to impossible to do what has been the most important thing for many families. |
