| Well Mikael, even assuming that story to be false the headline is most DEFINITELY true. Bush got tax cuts passed but to do so he had to make them temporary in that they EXPIRE if not voted for again in 2008 or 2009. The democrats have been talking about killing the tax cuts since Bush passed them. It would come to about $400 BILLION in new taxes which would be the largest tax increase in American history and the dems wouldn't have to vote on anything to accomplish this. This, of course, is actually Bush's fault for being dumbass enough to want to "get along" with the democrats who NEVER seem to be able grasp the BASIC economics lesson that when you cut tax rates you INCREASE revenue. In other words, when you stop penalizing an activity you get more people doing it. More people doing it equals more tax revenue. This lesson is so SIMPLE and so DEMONSTRABLY TRUE that I have come to the conclusion that the Democrats simply feel they can spend your money better than you and they crave that control. |
