I still say it's a matter of making your show intrestng enough (and advertise enough) for the average person out there to WANT to see your show. Advertising to your friends and family is great and they might be able to bring a friend or two along. But once they buy all your shirts and cds, then what? I would say a band's focus (obviously besides trying to play the best musicaly as they can) is capture new fans! Get someone who has never been to your show before! And if you see faces you don't know, play the best you possibly can so this person will say, "Wow, they rock!" Rather then them try to talk louder to the girl they are trying to hook up wiht.
