historically there have been 2 ways bands have 'made it'....

1-tour relentlessly playing gig after gig for year after year waiting on that 'lucky break'

2-know someone who is well connected

the internet has somewhat created a 3rd mechanism but I still think #2 is by far the best and easiest to achieve but it requires good promotion, networking skills, and good communication skills (of course all of these require 1 thing most bands don't have....good songs)
