Don't buy, hack. I'll give you a copy of cubase if you're willing to buy a mac to use it with. The reason why mac is such an effective platform for recording is because of it's minimalistic nature; your computer's resources aren't being sapped by the OS.
I use a mac with a firepod interface and that is all you need. |
