| Equipment/electronic tech geek question Sorry I didn't want to put this in the band only section.
There might be an e tech that might have some input to my question(s).
I just aquired a mesa boogie diesel 2x10. Best I can figure its about 1985-1990 model, originally set up at 300 w 8 ohms.
Everything in it is blown.
I have 2 - 10" 8 300 8 ohm watt eminence speakers.
I bought the original tweeter that came with it. 300 w 8 ohm.
I will be running the cabinet at 600 w @ 4 ohms.
My question is...
Should I...
1. go with an inline capacitor to protect the tweeter? (thats the way the cabinet was set up)
if so which one?
2. build/buy a crossover to run the cabinet response where I want?
where do you think would be a good x-over point?
3. modernize it, and buy a new mesa player control that comes on all new bass cabinets?
which totally kicks ass, but mesa probably wants an arm an a leg for.
