If I am not mistaken it is LEGAL in all 50 states for an 18 year-old to have CONSENSUAL sex (apparently this is a kidnap/sexual ASSAULT case and I don't mean to imply ANYTHING with respect to the victim but you asked why sexual predators can't live near high schools but can live near colleges) so an 18 year-old COULD legally have sex with someone who in the past has been convicted of sex crimes. In other words if you say they can't live near colleges then you could also say they can't live near churches, shopping malls or anywhere else where they could come into contact with WOMEN period. In other words they can't live anywhere near civilization.
Wilthrill has a better method. First, let's separate out all of the 18 year-olds having sex with their 17 year old girlfriends from the true sexual predators. Currently, in California for example, if an 18 year-old MALE has sex with his 17 year-old girlfriend it is a crime called statutory rape. Ironically if a thirty year-old woman has sex with a 13 year-old boy, in California that is NOT statutory rape. ONLY a MALE can commit statutory rape in California.
I am more concerned with RAPISTS and PEDOPHILES than 18 year-old guys having sex with their 17 year-old girlfriends.
PEDOPHILES are, by definition, a good bit OLDER than their victims.
Now I would throw some of the potheads out of prison as well as deport the roughly 30% of federal prisoners (illegal aliens) to MAKE ROOM for the pedophiles and rapists. If it were an extreme case (for example a 30 year-old having sex with 6 year-old) I'd give them the DEATH PENALTY!!! Otherwise they get very long prison sentences WITHOUT the possibility of early release. If they did eventually get out part of their sentence would be that they would be ID'ed as sexual predators and anyone who wanted to know could find out where they lived.
As far as keeping women safe from these "disgusting men" I'd suggest that a 357 Magnum would do a far better job of that than relying on the sexual predator to obey the rules and not live near a college. |
