Well not only that...but remember Pearl Harbor???? Do we remember what they would've done? It's like people saying how horrible we were to send our troops to Afganastan... (Iraq, different story) could you imagine if that war was HERE right now, like they wanted it to be!

Opinions don't have to be valid, unfortunately...but there is such thing as 'agreeing to disagree' and that's something I wish could happen more often on this board...if we're going to discuss such 'nerve-hitting' topics, we have to expect some difference of opinion...
I, personally, am very patriotic. I love America and I do cry when I hear the national anthem (ok...so yeah, I cry a lot...shut up) I have three best friends with husbands in either Iraq or Afganastan (yes, there ARE still troops there, how quickly we forget) and my very best friend (since I was 2)is fighting in Iraq... Do I think we're the 'bad guy' in all cases? No... I hear how much we've done to help that country, we're not the bad guys there, no matter what people back here want to say...but do I think we think our shit don't stink...yes... I think we have developed a false sense of security that 911 didn't even break. If you want to go ahead and say that that's not patriotic, go ahead. I've been called worse... but my point is... we can't be perfect..and we can't fix what the US did in the past...move on...it's the present...fight for a better country... We can't change our past...only our future.
