| As loser white men, you and I may not understand the importance of claiming one's heritage. When I look around I see my heritage all over the place. When I look into the upper tiers of leadership in my country I see only my heritage. To blacks and those of other ethnicities that don't have those familiarities, it is certainly a source of pride, even in today's semi-equal world to see one's heritage made known with zeal. Obama could be the next president. He could be the first african american president in American history. That's exciting, no matter what color you are. It's okay to be proud and vocal about one's heritage. I suppose it is the same as driving a truck with a rebel flag in the back window or something. |
