| Yeah, the Avalanche/Red Wings series use to be pretty heated, when did it start? around '99 or '00? The winner of that series pretty much represented the Western Conference in the cup. I think when the teams stabilize a little more we will see rivalries like that again. One is starting between the Capitals and Penguins (namely Malkin and Ovechkin).
Once rosters are set, and the same players start facing each other in games and playoff series, there will be more bad blood. These first few years back playing has allowed a lot of trading and free agency, so no one has set a solid roster yet. |
