I think my Boss Micro BR came from ebay (Christmas Present).
I do not make it a general practice to buy shit from any old Tom, Dick, and Harry on the internet... a local forum may be different, but when it comes to guitars and amps and such, sometimes it pays to spend a little more to buy it in person, or from a reputable internet music store (Musician's Friend, ect.).
Ebay is a rip-off waiting to happen, I know thousands (millions) of things are sold daily that are valid transactions, but getting ripped-off once will more than likely change your outlook, or at least make you more careful. |
I'm not knocking Ebay per se, I have several hundred transactions both buying and selling and have not been ripped off yet (knock on wood!).
You can look at their feedback and the way they write their ad to tell the good sellers from the ripoffs most of the time. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Big ticket items, I stay away from low and no feedback sellers. And I have bought and sold dozens of guitars with no problems.
I have also passed on a lot of items that I really wanted, but the sellers seemed fishy and I wasn't willing to risk it. But I know that I've been lucky to not have been ripped off yet with as many Ebay deals as I've done.
