Hon, the first thing you need to do is be so confident that anything you say will stick in their heads. I'm sorry right now because I have dial fucking up but just grab their attention with a topic. I brought in a snake to my speech class and explained how they are such wonderful creatures and I had people interested in them except for the lady who had a phobia. I would think find something no matter how weird it sounds to other people and go with it. Surprise em' doll! That makes for the best.
