You know at the risk of igniting yet another debate about abortion I would think that we ALL could agree that a child one day old is dependent on his mother for life but the child has a right to life. DOES ANYBODY DISAGREE WITH THAT???
I'd also think that if the above is true then a viable fetus (one capable of living outside the mother) would also have a right to life.
So just looking at that I would conclude that the debate would be confined to fetuses that have not reached viability.
And yet it is not!!!
Somehow many in this country have accepted the idea that up until that fetus passes out of the mother (and in some cases not until the fetus is TOTALLY OUTSIDE of the mother) it is ok to kill it.
Now obviously , I disagree with that. And though I don't understand the other side's "logic", I DO understand why they would argue it.
Now on my side of the debate I don't understand those who would argue that a man pulling out just murdered a baby. The "baby" was NEVER formed. There is NOTHING to "murder" at that point. I mean that is so weak I could use the same "logic" to decry as murderers EVERY female who has refused to have sex with me.
On the other side of the debate, I don't understand is WHY anyone would attempt to justify abortion by saying, "killing babies cuts down on crime."
That is just an incredibly weak-assed argument and shows an incredible MISUNDERSTANDING of LIFE and CRIME!!! |
