Hi everyone,
Got a call from Corey today finally and he’s doing fine! He called me today at work around 11:00 a.m., It was 7:07 p.m. where he’s at. Right now he’s not so sure exactly where he’s at, but they go to Samara sometimes. They do patrols for 6-8 hours a day which he finds pretty boring. He said the locals treat them fine. He was trying to figure out how to work the email system but was getting frustrated. I told him to write when he could so I could have his address. He told me he send me something and I said “what, a jar of sand?’ and he said “maybe a rock”.
I told him I’d get anything his unit needed such as baby wipes, toothpaste, etc. but he said he can get it all there. I then told him well, I’ll send all the guys some homemade cookies but he said he’d keep them all for himself. *rolls eyes*. He’s staying in some sort of trailer like you see on trains? I guess like a box car maybe. There are four guys in it and it has air conditioning which is great as I thought he’d be in a tent. He may be home sometime in January. He hasn’t seen any combat action yet and sounded kind of disappointed. That’s my boy…

I think this may be where Corey said he was at. Just under Tikrit, along the Tigris River, about an hour North of Baghdad.
