| Thanks, and I agree with you completely on that point. And I won't say a part of me doesn't agree with your position in general. But Nixon didn't go kiss china's ass just because he wanted to. He recognized that China would be the emerging superpower of the 21st century, and that with the chinese mindset of decades and centuries, we'd need to start early to cultivate some trust.
The chinese leaders may yet be taken down by the people, but things take a long time to happen in China. It took 70 years for the Soviet Union to fall and it may take longer in china. The PRC wasn't formed until 1949 so it's only 59 years old as of now.
Maybe their moon shot will fail and it'll cause an avalanche of rolling heads! |
