Did Katrina force CPR Fest inside? If so, then your point is made and I apologize, but from what you've been arguing it's inside because of the heat, Mississippi in the summer has always been hot (from what I am aware). And honestly, I didn't even say it would sway me from attending... others did, but I did not.
I'd read your blog...seriously... you should start one I think you have a lot on your mind and just need to direct it toward the right people (or none at all... does that make sense? Sometimes I write on my blog toward specific people and sometimes I write to me or to noone, or anyone, lol) |
To be fair, I think we've both been going on and on about our respective points of view. I don't think I've posted a flood, you've responded each time and we've each defended our own POV, which is cool as far as that goes.
You're right, I really don't know you. On the other hand, even if you've talked to friends about it, you don't know how much Katrina changed this place if you haven't been here. To be honest I don't know if Katrina had anything to do with the fest going inside. I know all those nice oak trees were stripped of their leaves and looked dead for a long time, though I think they're coming back now.
It just seemed petty, with the destruction of this place, to bicker about it not being like it used to be, and I do apologize for giving you a hard time about that. At your age you probably can't imagine being my age (50) and mourning my homeland that no longer exists. Because I was gone from 1983 to 2003 in Los Angeles, I sort of feel that I just got back and adapted to what was familiar and what had changed, when it was all wiped out. Then a year later, my best friend, who was half the reason I even came back from L.A., also died. So yeah, I am probably a little too touchy on the subject.
Everybody has a sob story, especially since the storm, and many people have worse than mine. I'm not telling it for the boo-hoo factor, just by way of explaining why I went off the deep end on this subject. So again, sorry for that. Though I do still think that CPR probably wanted to move it inside because its core audience is getting older and less able to tolerate the summer heat. It's not that it's getting hotter, it's that a lot of people are less able to tolerate it as they age. That definitely applies to me and a lot of my friends.
