| NACA Contracts Sonicbids To Handle Block Booking Sonicbids, the leading Web site that helps bands connect with music promoters, has partnered with the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) to take on the block booking process for the organization's school and associate members (approximately 1,200 colleges and 7,000 associates). This marks the first time in NACA's storied history that it will be outsourcing the "gig" transaction between its member schools and associate members, turning the whole process over to Sonicbids and their online platform.
To date, NACA has made it easy for schools and acts to connect. They enable bands and other performers to more easily book tours, and schools to block book an act with other schools in their region in order to get a better price and fill their entertainment schedule. With this agreement the entire transaction will be taken online using Sonicbids.
All NACA associate members, including both individual performers and agents, will be able to create an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) on Sonicbids and submit it to the 1,200+ schools that are a part of NACA's network (each of the schools will have their own promoter account on Sonicbids as well). Associate members will be able to target specific regions or groups of schools where they would like to perform, which will help them more easily set up tours.
On the school side, NACA member schools will be able to identify top new talent, view their EPK's online and book them through Sonicbids. More importantly, individual schools can also add other NACA schools (in their city, state or region) to a "Watchlist" that will alert them to which bands and performers other schools are looking at or booking. They will then be able to communicate through Sonicbids to set up block booking of that band or artist.
"CO-OP Buying has transformed significantly in the almost 50 years since NACA created this concept. Now it's time to take it to the next level by augmenting the user experience and better utilizing technology. Our partnership with Sonicbids has led to this expanded online Block Booking system that facilitates schools' ability to bring artists and acts to their campuses and save money, while providing artists with new opportunities for exposure in the college market," said Jon Dooley, PhD, chair, NACA Board of Directors, and associate dean of Student Development, Marquette University.
"Our partnership with the NACA is a huge benefit to our members, to our company, and to NACA," said Sonicbids CEO Panos Panay. "It makes the Sonicbids network even more robust by adding 7,000 more performers and the nation's largest collegiate organization for campus activities. For the first time, our members will have a direct connection to the very exciting college market. We couldn't be more excited." |
