I had a 82 diesel rabbit, and yes it got 50 mpg.
That sucker was so slow, getting on the interstate was a stressful moment.
I kinda wish I still had that piece of shit!
The last 2 days I worked I rode the motorcycle, and got wet.
Weds afternoon, hit a t-storm going home...not a big deal...I was on my way home.
Thursday morning going to work when I hit it I knew it wouldn't last long.
So I decided to speed up to get out of the rain, besides the rain stinging my legs, getting wet, and the rain being so cold that it would take your breath away, by the time I realized it I was going 110...didn't back off because I wanted to dry out before I got to work.
Sure enough the rain only lasted a minute or so, but I still was soaked when I got to work...no clothes to change.
Stopping to put on rain gear takes more time(and probably get soaked doing so) than just riding through it, of course if you don't mind being wet...
