| I'M 59 and while I was getting over my coke habit I worked for Chevron and Haliburton from the gulf to the northern tundra including Wyoming. My take on this is not from newspapers or other press releases but from research and field work I did on behalf of the oil patch. You just think press releases in the music industry are misleading you should see the real pros at work. During the embargo in the seventies I pumped oil back into the ground in TEA POT DOME so it could not be inventoried. The gulf coast and northern Alaska have more oil under them than the mid-east but the decision was made to leave it lay for the most part. Political structures are not run by "good-for-the-people" but on a cash basics. Are they lobbying to drill????? Yes, but maybe 50 wells,,,, not the 50,000 it would take to deplete those reserves within 100 years. |
