Woman Arrested with .47 Blood Alcohol Level

http://www.wltx.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=48914

Seattle, WA (KIRO-TV) - The Washington State Patrol says 54-year-old Deana Jarrett was arrested Thursday afternoon for being an imminent threat to public safety after she was arrested with a blood-alcohol level of .47 last week.

When officers arrived at her home Thursday, they say she was heavily intoxicated and refused to come out.

Troopers were forced to remove an air-conditioning unit from a window to get her out of the house, the WSP reported.

Jarrett, a former Seattle police officer, was arrested twice last week on drunken-driving charges.

Redmond police said they pulled Jarrett over on April 10 after drivers called 911, complaining about her erratic driving. Police said Jarrett refused to take a Breathalyzer test, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and posted $500 bail.

Police said that less than 14 hours later, she was arrested again after a collision.

Kinsey Schneider told KIRO-TV she was getting off state Route 520 at Redmond Way when Jarrett's car hit her from behind.

"I'm looking in my rear-view mirror, and I'm going, 'She's not going to stop,'" Schneider said. "Slam -- she hit me."

Schneider said that when Jarrett tried to drive off, Jarrett's car hit a sport utility vehicle driven by Darlene Green. "I saw her reach over into her purse and pick out a small, airline-sized bottle of Smirnoff vodka and drink it," Green said.

Washington State Patrol troopers said Jarrett could barely stand and fell asleep during sobriety tests. They said at .47, her blood alcohol level was six times the legal limit.
Police and medical officials said that a level above .40 is potentially lethal.

Two months ago, Jarrett was arrested on charges of reckless driving and fleeing the scene of an accident. She was convicted of DUI in 2001.

we had a guy in the ER with a .54. AND HE WAS AWAKE AND TALKING TO US!
It all depends on someones tolerance.
Some folks live daily with at a .40, but someone who doesn't drink that much can die from a .35 level.
HOORAY BEER!
