For those that have been or had business dealings with this club, how did it go? Are the staff very professional? Do they pay well or are they cheap bastards? Offer drink discounts to bands? Do they have reasonable expectations of the bands? How are the crowds that visit there? Proper lighting and sound provided or does the band have to provide it? What about the enviroment? If you are afriad to comment due to the possibility of closing a door, just pm me your comments and I will post them. I'll keep if confidential. |

Rep Power: 47 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just a few things that I know about the place first hand. I think the crab cakes suck donkey dick. The smoke in there is terrible, they need to invest in more smoke eaters or upgrade the ones they have. If you are an underaged band and they book you, do not expect to be able to go inside until your set starts and be prepared to pack up and leave as soon as you are done. They think they are some nice club or something as baseball caps are not allowed. They advertise out the ass. They probably spend more on advertising in one month than any other bar on the coast. Parking can be a bitch sometimes. I think the overall vibe of the bar is less to be desired. I am constantly told it is just Castaway's with a fresh coat of paint. |

Rep Power: 47 ![]() ![]() ![]() | A message from myspace: About that whole shockwave thing..i totally agree about the castaways with paint job comment. The place is pretty jumpin but after about 1:00pm but you see people openly going into the bathrooms in groups (pretty obvious whats going on) they have this little room at the front of the bar my friends and i have dubbed "The White Room". You see people constantly walking out whiping their noses. It seems like a very druggy crowd. We've had an experience with the bartenders overcharging and the owner had to step in. We have decided as a group of friends we will not go back there unless one of our friends bands are playing. Much like we decided the same thing about castaways a couple months ago. I havent had a chance to try the food and havent heard anything good or bad about the food. |

Rep Power: 42 ![]() | i've only had the food once, but i agree about the crowd. we were there last saturday and it was very noticeable. we had the prime table(right next to women's bathroom it was the only one available) and noticed groups of several girls (3-4 at a time) going in together. it's obvious what's going on but the owner's aren't doing too much about it. we were trying to watch the band, but it wasn't exactly an enjoyable experience when you have to look around people that really have no business congregating around a bathroom. |

Rep Power: 31 ![]() | The one time we played there the owner was one of the more frequent visitors to the "white room" and we were cracking jokes about it. I don't like the bar myself, not now or when it was the Martini Bar. Haven't had the food but they were charging $3 for dom. beer which I thought was a little steep. |
