But on the subject of misinterpretation and response, I initially went and found the $499 BIN on Ebay for that head you wanted $650 for because you laughed when I said a 412 cab weighs 100 lbs, and made a veiled reference to me being a pussy if I couldn't lift a 412 cab by myself. Meanwhile I knew what I was talking about while you were implying I was a pussy. See how that worked out for you?

I wouldn't have pointed out the truth - that your price was $150 high - if you hadn't implied that I was a pussy for knowing that a 412 cab weighs 100 lbs.

So this is how these little spats get started, but then too, peace can be declared at any time.

And yeah, I know, it's your friend's amp. But if you put an item up for sale without a realistic idea of what it's worth, expect to get some feedback with a realistic price. You post the ad, you get the feedback.

Which is why I like Ebay, used stuff is cheaper and you can usually get your money back when you sell it.

$650 is still a good staring point.

it's a good amp and will be until it is used again or sold.

Well, I realized after a few exchanges on that for sale thread that you probably didn't mean it the way I first took it. My point was that I took it as either hostility or ridicule on your part at first, and responded accordingly.

Apparently you haven't scanned the Musical Instruments category of Ebay much, because people do indeed say those things all the time. Like when they try to sell a Japanese 80s Jackson with a Ft. Worth neckplate as a US model and get emails telling them what it really is.

People try to sell shit for way more than it's worth on Ebay all the time, and when people write to them with reality checks they throw fits, often because they got screwed when they bought it, falling for the story that 50 knowledgeable Ebay users are now refuting.

"B-but ny cousin Billy Blitzer of Rokk Doggz sold it to me for only $2500! It CAN'T be only worth $300, he wouldn't DO that to me!" But oh yes - he would, and he did.

Happens every day, on Ebay, Harmony Central, Craigslist. P.T. Barnum was right.

All I have to say about ebay is:

Bought a drum machine... got screwed (never received it)

Bought a Roland E-30 Intelligent Arranger, real cheap.

Bought an Alesis HR-16 Drum machine, real cheap.

I think my Boss Micro BR came from ebay (Christmas Present).

I do not make it a general practice to buy shit from any old Tom, Dick, and Harry on the internet... a local forum may be different, but when it comes to guitars and amps and such, sometimes it pays to spend a little more to buy it in person, or from a reputable internet music store (Musician's Friend, ect.).

Ebay is a rip-off waiting to happen, I know thousands (millions) of things are sold daily that are valid transactions, but getting ripped-off once will more than likely change your outlook, or at least make you more careful.

I bought 3 guitars on ebay, all with great success.
I might have been lucky though, who knows...
I even turned one around, sold it back on ebay for a very small profit.


Guess you should just wait till the right deal comes along before you bite...
