If you think you band is going to get signed, you are living in a dream world.
Getting signed isn't what it used to be.
It takes every one of YOU, and YOUR band mates tireless hard work. It makes no difference who your buddies are. They can't help you much.
You better be thick skinned, and like the enegized bunny, you keep going and going...

I dont' take things like that anymore when it comes to age preferences.

You arent' too old, if anything they are too young.
What I mean by that is that (by trial and error) that vast age differences have the ability to be a problem for the simple reason that you may not have the same influences or have grown up on the same music. (in most cases, but not all cases)

Never let anyone tell you you are too old. I saw Chuck Berry live onstage when he was 75 years old (at springfest a few years ago) Willie Nelson still plays and he is at least 70. All of Led Zeppelin are over 60. Skynyrd, KISS, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden all are over 50 or are pushing it.

Unless you are looking for the next teen idol, age isnt' an issue.

Age equals experience and maturity.

I so agree with this, more experienced player and should by all means make less mistakes when the all important and honest bar owner/manager tries to take advantage of the band. And most of the time the older musician has way more cool guitars and stuff and knows how to use them

I agree Wayne, and Jocko.
Nothing like a experienced "older" guy, he knows the business, he has connections, reliable, dependable, got a job, transportation, and much more mature. What else do you need?

On the other hand...

Thats the age the band wants, so be it.
No 20 something crowd wants to see a 40 something year old man
jamming with a bunch of 20-25 year olds.
Been there done that, got hated for it.

yeah the whole age thing isnt about saying someone is to old. We just want someone who would have the same influences as us and be at about the same stage in life you know,i just threw a range up there...
