Rep Power: 18 ![]() | Ok so tell me those two little speakers are not the only ones in this area, or is that the center speakers. It looks like other speakers in the upper right and left. I purchased JBL Studio Monitors years ago and paired them up with Klisph Heresy and a Klisph 1000 watt sub for my entertainment purposes. Watching the Transformers is one hell of a event when I kick in the surround sound and I use the KLH center channel speakers......... |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | no, its not tracks in the sand. tracks in the sand was built a year or two after this one existed, and had a trident 80c console. tracks in the sand, (or T.I.T.S. as i like to call it) was actually a really good sounding room...it got kind of a bad rap right off the bat 'cause the owners were a little left-of-center...but i did 3 or 4 projects there (without the owners around) and everything sounded great: Onus (Pensacola) http://www.chrismara.com/onus P Jones (Nashville) http://www.chrismara.com/pjones2 Consumption's EP (Ocean Springs) http://www.chrismara.com/consumption1 i wish the music community down there would've given it more support....it could've been cool....really great tracking facility even if you wanted to do the rest at home. oh well. to give you some perspective on the size of the room; the console is 12 feet wide, those big speakers are about the size of a fridge (without the freezer), that's a full sized pool table in the background, and a Steinway grand on the studio floor. in the first picture- if you look below the right hand tv, you'll see a window. through the window is more of the same studio floor that the piano is on, and it continues for another 30 feet or so to the right. it also had 20 foot ceilings throughout. in the second picture, you'll also see a window below the left hand tv, which is a booth adjacent to the booth by the piano, each about 25 x 25 (not square tho). what you don't see are 3 other booths, bathrooms, the bar around the corner from the pool table, the foosball table and other video games, etc, etc. it was bigger than most studios here in nashville. -chris Last edited by cjmnash; 02-08-2008 at 05:00 PM.

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | ok I have been there, its been a while. I was hired gun when I was in the union, a "real" good studio. I never met the artist, I can't remember his name. Its was a jazzy blues project. It was tough, I had to create, and score my bass lines. Since I was a hired gun, I had to sign a release stating that I would not get credit, and could never claim royalities on the songs. Que sera sera. Never heard it on the radio.

the yellow 8 1/2 x 11 union card all the players sign is a contract stating the obvious 'work for hire' stuff along with the union pay scale depending on the intended use for the music recorded during the session: demo, limited pressing, master, tv/film, etc. one of the major benefits of being in the union (and signing the card) is if what you worked on moved from a demo (for instance) to a master, or tv/film use, you'd get another check in the mail for the difference in rates. if you do a union session, you sign the card.[/quote] part of the gig, bro....lol.
