Rep Power: 42 ![]() | where does recording fit into your priorities? what I mean is, imagine your band's activity as a pie chart. What portion of that chart is 'recording?' Is it a priority, an activity your band wants to engage in as often as possible? Or is it a means to an end, something you only do when you want to put an album together? I'm just wondering how it shakes out in the life of your band~ way below performing? Only do it when you really have to? Or, wish you never had to leave the studio? Rep Power: 42 ![]() ![]() | I feel like recording your band is extremely imperative to a band's growth and success. DEMOS:get yourself out there,in the trenches with everyone else.Have somebody hear you and remember who you are;not that you were just "that really cool band from the other night" SOPHOMORE COLLABORATIONS:Okay, your band's been together a little while now, your sound has been refined by now.you've been doing that regional touring.Time for you to show off those talents that you've honed. It's time to put out a product that showcases this. PANDORA'S BOX:The band's third effort, everyone's over the catchy lil hooks of the first two albums. This is where your true artists will shine, but,if it's not working for ya,better hope you can close this box and stick with whatver else has been working. GREATEST HITS ALBUM:I'll see ya when ya get there... *** please note;these comments were made immedately followng an intense hydroponic session,so if I didn't make sense, bring me some Doritos and green tea,so I can float back down to your level and explain myself if I can...

Rep Power: 42 ![]() | cool; thanks for the input. Figured I'd try to do my part to get some discussions going here- so are we saying 50/50 then, pretty much? you'd like to spend 50% of your(band/musical endeavor)time recording? I don't mean "how bad do we need a good recording," so much as "how much time would I spend recording, if I had that option?" would you record constantly, and put an album together as enough material compiled, or would you only record if you HAVE to make a demo or album? |

Bands should NEVER put a bad recording on the internet. I learned the hard way when I started recording. I had no idea what I was doing, but I learned quick. adams new project i'm surprized as picky as he is about recordings, he let these recordings on the internet, let alone exist for circulation, or a demo. I love the guy like a brother and want to beg him to let me record them for free, and pull that crap down now before its too late. If I was a bar owner, and they came at me with a demo like that, they would NEVER get a call from me.
