I'm not a fan of onboard digi-FX- it's just one more thing that can fail and they're usually not great quality, but that's not a bad-looking board.

One thing that's a nice feature as you grow and your monitoring needs evolve is a 'B-mix' capability. It allows you to create a separate mix from what's going to your main outputs and send it where you want it (headphones, drummer's monitor, etc.) Looks like you could use the aux loops on that Yammy to do this if you ever needed a second mix.

Let me check with Tony and Kevin today; I think we may have a board or two at the studio that we don't use anymore. We've been planning on having a 'studio/garage-sale' to empty out our storage room.

what do you use for FX if you aren't using the boards?

also, this one is a MX rather than an MG.
The MG is the newer "better" model.
I wonder how much of a difference that makes?

what's your budget?
I just called Qwik Pawn, they have a Mackie CR1604 vlz, an older model than the current one but a very powerful board.

they're asking $599, she said- but I'm sure they'd deal on it.

for effects we use outboard gear and patch it into the effects loop of the mixer. That way you can use whatever unit you prefer.

ar, I see. Just heard from Tony; he's got a CR1604 he could sell, but I don't know if he could go that low. I'll find out.
