do you teach beginners how to read?

I have been thinking about teaching bass again.

I don't teach them to read...I teach ear training and show them how to read tab. I have tried to teach them to read before but I have learned that it is easier if I don't. Most don't have the patience to learn it.

I want Lance to learn...He wants to learn. But he's left handed and he sees to think he can't do it.

Tim if I had some disposable income I'd take a few lessons. Maybe when the kids are all grown...
