Social networking sites have become dominant forces on the Internet, but the social networking giants have left the talent showcase niche relatively untapped. Today, with the launch of DiscoverMeLive.com (http://www.discovermelive.com), that's about to change.

Although DiscoverMeLive.com is a true social networking entity, the site also serves as a free online destination where anyone can be discovered for his or her talents. Members can upload the content that best demonstrates their abilities, from video clips and audio files to creative writing and art.

"I believe DiscoverMeLive.com was created at the perfect time," stated DiscoverMeLive.com founder Kevin Dodd. "Everyone wants to be famous or to be known for something special. People also want to start making money off their contributions to the social networking giants, because - after all - without their content, there is nothing."

And that is another important distinction of DiscoverMeLive.com: Members can win monthly prize money and even sell their content through the site.
