It's probably not a misquote....Gene gets to talking and doesn't know when to stop sometimes. That is one reason so many people hate KISS...because he doesn't know when to shut the fuck up...lol. Another reason is that they are just jealous of their sucess. I think they should retire. They are in the middle of their most successful European tour ever so what do I know. I guess if you can still draw the crowd and you want to play...go for it. They are selling out stadiums without any new album, without label support on tour so for them they don't need to release a new album...it doesn't matter. They'll probably bust off 50 or 60 million this year. It's the new artists that file sharing hurts. You can believe the labels will find a way to get their hands on some of that money and they will push the bands down even farther using file sharing as an excuse for paying less royalities. Up and coming bands need tour support from labels to get their name out there. So many bands these days wind up playing at Thunders or you name the dive USA for a couple hundred bucks a night when back in the day they would be supporting a major label band on an arena tour. Free music is great for the fans, but is it really good for up and coming bands?? We'll see.

your right lee, time will tell. Either way you have to admit, something drastic will change concerning the labels. Maybe each of these bands that were/are so successful the past 20 years will decide to throw their money into investments for these small time bands....i.e. starting labels. who knows, in the future you could be looking at the Metallica Record Label, The Kiss record Label, The Aerosmith label, Stones, etc..etc.. or at least the ones that didn't party all their money away.....lol

By the way Lee, Did you watch the roast for Gene Simmons?? Funny Stuff...

Yea I saw the Gene Simmons roast...it was funny. I hope something good does come from the demise of the labels. I'm definately not a fan of the labels...they have ruined many musicians.

Not a Kiss fan, but they are a great live band. Who's playing guitar with them now? That doesn't look like Ace.

It's not Ace. It's Tommy Thayer from the 80's band Black n Blue.

Thanks. I guess Ace gave them permission to use his "makeup"? IDK. Didn't Eric Carr wear different makeup when he took over for Peter Kriss?

Ace and Peter sold their rights to all KISS merchandising including their makeup before the reunion tour. Kind of dumb. Eric Carr did use different makeup...that was before Peter and Ace sold their rights.
