What seemed like a feasible marriage between rocker Marilyn Manson and burlesque dancer Dita von Teese is now ending as Dita has filed for divorce.

The two were together as a couple for seven years when they finally married in December 2005. After one single year of marriage, Dita von Teese filed for divorce before Christmas, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Dita, whose real name is Heather Renee Sweet, is a star in her own right as a model and burlesque dancer. She reportedly split up with Marilyn Manson on Christmas Eve.

The two married on December 3, 2005, at Gurteen Castle in Kilsheelan. Dita famously wore a purple dress custom-made by Vivienne Westwood and a tri-corned hat. It appears the goth rocker had been a fan of hers for a long time before they became a couple.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, would have liked for her to appear in one for his videos, but this was not possible for various reasons. They did keep in touch though and built a relationship that later led to marriage.

This marriage will probably end now unfortunately. Manson’s alcohol consumption is allegedly a factor. Also the singer has apparently lost touch with his soon-to-be ex-wife, as Dita could not get in touch with him and inform him of the impending divorce.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She really tried to make this work but he's not been responsive. She loved him so much, but he has too many demons.”

The source added: "He can't even communicate with her at this point. She tried to tell him she was divorcing him, but she can't even get him on the phone. She moved out of the house and he hasn't even noticed."

34-year-old Dita is famous for her appearances in Playboy magazine and for her idiosyncratic look, which is inspired by 1940s and ‘50s fashion. She is also a representative for Estee Lauder, as the face of MAC makeup.

Estee Lauder president John Demsey has said: "We're really sad to hear this. Dita has been the most extraordinary MAC spokeswoman. She's the ultimate professional - a glamour girl like there used to be in the 30s and 40s."

Controversial rock singer Manson photographed Dita for the December 2002 issue of Playboy. The couple have been living in Hollywood with their two Devon Rex cats, Lily and Aleister, and two dachshunds, Greta and Eva.
