These bands are older but good (late '90s) and I believe they are both still making music: ... and you will know us by the trail of dead and Creeper Lagoon They are both excellent bands, and you may dig them if you like Secret Machines. |

Rep Power: 43 ![]() | I've got a couple Secret Machines CDs, and used to like Trail of Dead but their last album was one of the worst things I ever bought. I was really disappointed in that one. They're an interesting band, if I bit noisy. I like how they rotate instruments. |

I have Source Tags and Code, it is pretty bitchin'. I'm digging on "Relative Ways" and "It was there that I saw you" by them. They use to totally trash the stage and all of their equipment when they played... do not know how they could afford to, but they were notorious for it, kind of like The Who. | |

Rep Power: 43 ![]() | yeah, that's the one. 'Worlds Apart,' I guess it's called. That's one of the few, if not ONLY album that ever made me want to contact the artist and request a return/refund. Actually made me mad, listening to it. But I like lots of their other material. from Allmusicguide.com: Trail of Dead's undeniable power gets lost and scattered among Worlds Apart's preludes and interludes. But the band's attack on complacency extends to their own music: Worlds Apart might be a noble failure, but it would probably be worse if it just revisited previous successes. there's audio samples there: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...0:09fexqqsldte I love that site. |

Rep Power: 12 ![]() | Oh, and I forgot, Trail of Dead's drummer has been known to play the timpani, I do not know if he always did or if they started with Worlds Apart, but yeah, the timpani, that is fucking rock and roll! I've heard "The Rest Will Follow", but not the rest of the album. I didn't think that song was too bad (it has been a while since I have heard it, I will give it another listen), but I could see where it dragged on compared to the rest of their stuff. I will take your word for it, I have heard many people say that it blew majorly, which is sad, because that was right when they were getting a lot of attention. |

Rep Power: 12 ![]() | Oh yeah, Absolution is my fave by far, but Showbiz is really good, and you can find it at most Best Buy or Wherehouse music type places. If you like their heavier stuff check out tracks off of Origin of Symmetry, they went with a harder edge sound, and you may enjoy it. |
