So did anyone from here get one yesterday?

I was out at Lowe's buying some things for the house and thought, what the hell Sear's opens in 10min. I figured if I could get one I would sell it on ebay and pay for my hosting. They didn't even get any in or the employee's keep them.

Some of them were going for 9grand on ebay.

I will wait until the hype is gone and get one then. I have never understood the reason people go nuts for these things. Half the time the newest ones dont work right anyway.

When the 360 came out it had a really nice game for it, Halo2; but the PS3 is just a more advanced gaming system. Yeah it will blow the socks off of all the other systems but there is no real need to purchase it right now. All the new games are like been there did that. I am considering the new Wii because of the wand / controller. If the PS3 had a killer game or something, don't get me wrong there are some nice games out there but nothing that really excites me. I'll grab one in a few months if the cost goes down, but not to many people can afford or justify a gaming system that costs 500+ dollars. Really it has a the ability to play the newest DVD's (OOOH I'm impressed) except that when you look at those movies price vs features my HI-Def DVD Player and HI Def TV do just fine for now. Games well most of those available except for maybe Final Fantisty (sp) are available on the 360 format or even the PS2 format. So what are the perks of spending the $500.00 again?

PC games are always the way to go. I really think that PS3 is going to go in the book of nostalgia along with 3DO, Sega CD and Sega Saturn. $600!!! FUCK THAT!!! That's more than my truck payment! I see Blu-Ray going over as well as Laser Disc. Sony is trying to fix technology that's not even broke. The old Beta players come to mind which I believe was one of Sony's failures to fix something that at the time wasn't broke in VHS.

you'll be able to link it up to your PSP and play games off of your PS3 on your PSP, and it will be a Wi-Fi connection, meaning, you can play anywhere in world, from your PS3 at home.

aren't satellites great?

Just read that there are rumors that the PS3 is going down the same path that the BetaMax did in the 80's.....

could be. some say that blu-ray discs wont hold like those of the HI-Def version. we'll see..

The Playstation formats (PS1, PS2, PSP) has something like 200 million units sold worldwide, so I don't really think they will go as quietly as betamax.

i honestly think that the PS3 has something that we can quite fathom yet, and thats being a complete online gaming source, with the Wi-Fi world upon us, the possibilities are endless. a true wireless network of gamers walking around. something like a virtual world if you will.

But so is the 360 at 75% of the cost. Being honest high much farther can you go with High Dif? I have a High Dif DVD and a 36in HDTV, that rocks when I play the 360 on it. Is the Playstation really worth all that money, it depends on the gamer. For me I will wait till the 360 comes out with their upgrades and move on from there. I actually got a chance to play the Wii yesterday, now thats a fun system to play with that controller.
