lets discuss why this board is doing poorly

BACK ON POINT (Sorry I don't know how to drag post quotes.)The question was WHY???? LESS TRAFIC HERE. I asked around and the number one response I got was "no tangible benefit to me/my band." second was the personal attacks of individuals/bands that come off as just plain juvenal sometimes. Both correctable IMHO.

The scene wasn't in the best of shape 4-5 years ago when everyone was trying, now there seems to be a lot of apathy.

So advertise the board, name drop it at shows, I remember when you would see bumper stickers with message boards' names stuck all over town. If you want a community you have to form a community. If it turns out to be a positive experience for all bands involved (show swapping, promotion, ect.)it will grow.

Even myspace isn't used for what it was meant to be used for when it started up.

Bystanders like you and I, don't see that this board is used for musicians to BOOK gigs, PROMOTE gig,s PROMOTE their band, and is that really what it is used for ... honestly?

Kind of sucks that the negativity has spread.

I think the complaining is making it worse... but that's just me. I started coming here to promote Slate44...I'm their "official spokesperson" haha... but I made some friends that have the same passion for music as I do... thus came the "bullshit" that this board is now being used for...

If you want to change the world, sitting around bitching about it is the way to go huh?

no, but the same 15 people that come to this site on a regular basis, might start thinking about what this board was really intended on in the first place if we bitch enough about it. ya know.
