Rep Power: 44 ![]() | Manhattan Fish Chowder This calls for fish. I didn't really like it with fish. I think it taste better with chicken or beef. Maybe it's because I don't really like fish or because I got the cheap frozen stuff from Wal Mart. 3/4 lb. fresh or frozen fish fillets 1 24 oz can vegetablejice 1 11oz can whole kernel corn w/sweet pepper 4 green onions 1/4 c. chicken broth 1 1/2 tea. snipped fresh thyme 1 tea. Worcestershire sauce Several dashes bottled hot pepper sauce Thaw fish if frozen. Rince, pat dry. Cut fish into 3/4" pieces. IN a large saucepan, combine vege juice, corn, onions, broth, thyme, worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 8 mins. Add fish to saucepan. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 3 to 5 mins more or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, stirring once. Makes 4 servings. FYI 173 calories 2 g total fat 0 g saturated fat 45 mg cholesterol 1021 mg sodium 22 g carbohydrate 4 g fiber 19 g protein of course, that's using the fish. |
