Yeah, that's understandable, but kind of sad. Is it that way as far as rebuilding and funding as well?

Yeah I couldn't see it as we were driving but it was at night.. I'm just curious as to how it turned out.. I think the railing itself gives the bridge a classy touch. lol

Well I will tell you there was a party for a number of reasons. 1. people like myself who drove 20 miles out of my way for 791 days were beyond happy to have the bridge back and deserved a little fanfare 2.it is a major step toward the full recovery of the coast 3. it was open A LOT quicker than originally predicted (you can thank the design-build concept for that) and 4. because we are about to have an election and the politicians needed to show off! lol

Anyone who feels it's "just a bridge" had obviously not gone through the hell of the giant horseshoe commute that I and MANY others edured for over two years.

Oh, and I didn't think the artwork pieces were up yet? I may be wrong though.

And the view from the top is fantastic!

Well I live in east OS and my commute was as follows:

90 to N Washington to W I-10 to S I-110 to W Howard Ave.

Now my commute is:

90 to W Howard Ave.
