Just saw tonight on NatgeoTV about a new program called "Bait Car". They have cars that are rigged especially for being stolen. These cars are rigged so if they are stolen after being left in a high risk area, internal camera's will turn on. These vehicles have automated GPS units built in and they track the car via GPS. After a few police cars get in the area, then they tell the dispatcher to kill the car. As the car is being killed all doors are locked so the car thief can not get out. Then the Police just grab Mr Dumbazz. With this program the Sacramento PD has had a 100% success rate for those caught and convicted in these crimes. Another new toy this PD is doing is recovering stolen cars by the use of photosensitive camera's that scans every tag on everycar. The return rates for stolen cars has jumped to 95% since using this new system. And finally a new toy still in development is the use of EMF waves to kill speeding cars. This is a huge electronic magnetic wave thats around 2 billion watts and lasts less than 1/50th of a second, its shot out of a Police Cruiser towards the suspect car, the electronic wave fries the computer in the car being chased, anything that is controlled by a cpu no longer works in that car.

So unless your in a early 80's car without a computer your azz is caught. Wow this is some great shit.........

Not really they didn't hold the gun to their heads until after they stole the car, they have a 100% conviction rate with this program. I say all the power to them, bring back capital punishment, and really mean the others. Allow one appeal, then fry all the fuckers who kill and rape others.

I agree, but you know the concept of entrapment hasn't been taken seriously since the Carter Administration.

It's kind of hard to feel sorry for auto thieves, but it really is a setup. Maybe have the cops out looking for people who have already committed crimes, rather than putting cheese in the rat trap so to speak.

I wonder how many times people have been mugged or shot while half a dozen cops were gathered around the monitor waiting for someone to steal a bait car?
