the only good thing left is the HOMEGROWN show and I haven't even heard that lately so I don't even know if they still do it...
the primary problem is they aren't diverse enough due to the corporate mentality i.e. they have become part of 'cookie cutter' radio and the cookies taste like crap..what they need to do is play local rock bands every single day and ride the Katrina wave

Rep Power: 49 | | | yeah, I just LOVE the competitions....like.."show up at 8:00p.m. so we can determine the lineup for the bands., Get there at 8 and be told your playing 1st, and "oh by the way, play only your 8 best songs"......then to have found out they "drew straws" at 7:00p.m!!....yeah thanks for that one CPR !!!!

Rep Power: 37 | | | Yea, the band "competitions" are always last minute. You'd basically better have no life. because lord knows when they'll need you to play.
I really can't complain because it's on rare occasion that I listen to the radio.
I pretty much turn on CPR once a month to see what's up. All you need is an hour or so to get the jest of what's popular these days.
I have no beef with the DJ's. They all seem OK. Special K is the only one i've seen on the board. I've never met the dude, but he seems to support the scene (as far as I can tell). And that's killer.
He does the homegrown show, right? |

maynard hangs out at the catastrophe a lot and he used to come to magic moments. i only see the other dj's if they are getting paid to be at the show or it is cpr sponsored. |

Rep Power: 44 | | | Every time I check em out again, I hear some new stuff that just doesn't sound good to me. Then again, I'm getting older. Last time I was in Phoenix, AZ I heard a station I really liked, really different. Played only punk rock, a good mix of old & new. Until theres a station like that, I'll be jammin the mp3 player.
The wcpr dj's seem like likable personalities, and putting the shows on is a big plus. |

they allow no moshing or anything else like that at their shows, you can request a song and they still wont play it
i pranked them a few times and the were awesome though |
