Rep Power: 39 | | | I think we expect too much out of CPR. I used to get pissed every time I listened, now I don't listen anymore.(I got sat. radio as a gift last year) Because they play some of the music that most of the people on this board seem to like we want them to open the gates and let it rip. But the simple fact is they are a corporate rock station and their playlist is by the numbers. Although, I'm not sure what is up with the whole classic rock thing other than the fad of kids wearing 70's rock shirts. They used to dog out that music not all that long ago. We need a college (or privately owned) radio station that is not funded by commercial $$$ so they can have autonomy over their playlist, kinda like MPR but geared toward younger people. As far as the band contests go...I think anyone that has participated in any of those knows they're bullshit. The winners are predetermined always, I repeat always! Kevin is good with the Homegrown Show, God love him for that. I haven't been to a CPR-sanctioned show in awhile but they used to be pretty hyped. All in all I give them a "boo+" but I don't think their that much different than a hundred other stations in the country other than they're less likely to take risks. I've heard similar stations in other cities be a little more on the edge with their playlist.

Rep Power: 50 | | | to make things worse, their reception is horrible. I live in Orange grove and have a hard time getting a good clear signal from my house. aren't their towers in wiggins or some shit?

Rep Power: 52 | | | But back on subject now...well sorta...did anyone go to cprfest 10?? And did anyone else think that the fest was better when they held them outside? I do understand that if it was outside we all would have gotten soaked for the rain. But the sound wasnt as good inside and it was hot inside where the music was and freezing in the halls. |

Rep Power: 52 | | | See we would have had a wet t-shirt contest if we had been outside. But we weren't and it sucked for me at least. |

Rep Power: 52 | | | But I don't know if my tube top would have stayed up in the rain, so I do look at the bright side. | | |
