This is a serious question
This site has outgrown the server it is on. I have already transferred over 30 gig of data and have had too many uniques visit this site.
I need to upgrade again but it is expensive. I don't think anyone local really comes here anyway.
I may have to put together my own benefit show to keep it up so I can afford to upgrade to a new server. The site is slower than an old man trying to get an erection with his 80 year old wife. |

But I come to message board a lot, not so much the main site, though. I think you could reduce the main site to nothing but a list of bands, their genre, a rating system and links to their myspace. Then leave myspace with the profiles.
Most of the other things on the site you could make forums for...Articles, reviews, etc.
And you could probably save a shitload of space if you deleted all of those old threads that no one cares about anymore. |

Rep Power: 31 | | | I use it almost every day. To check in on what everyone is doing. I also try to keep up with who's playing where but they don't always keep that part up to date. Some bands do but some don't!

I don't get out alot so it helps me keep in touch with people that I wouldn't normally get to. Keep it up, Marc, you're providing a cool service. I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure that B.L.U. would be on board for a benefit. |

Rep Power: 56 | | | i'm doing some research on dedicating hosting and some advertising services. If I can generate some revenue to make the site pay for itself it is something I will pursue. I can host a benefit show and take the money raised to purchase a year of hosting with a dedicated host. |

"all access" to the site. Just an idea. (someone more creative than me will have to determine what exactly "all access" is).
Ko-Lija will open the benefit with an acoustic set.
I use this site more as a fan, actually. I look on the calender on the days that I can go out, and look for a show somewhere.
I fuck around on the message board (a lot) and try to get the scoop on the different local bands and what's poppin' and for shit's and giggles.
You should charge more for advertising maybe?
Let me know, and we'll play the benefit. |

Rep Power: 56 | | | i've actually deleted quite a bit off the site and made a few changes. the cpu use has gone down on my current server but I don't know for how long. at least it loads in half a decent time at the moment.
i am considering making it all just a messageboard. |

I mean, you're the boss, do what you will. But, this is the only web-site that represents music on the coast. (no pressure). You're our only hope....siff sniff.
I heard there is a way to put links to on-line stores, and if people hit those links and buy something..... you get a cut,....just for hosting the link. | | |
