Does music influence us?

Just wanted to get some opinions. Remember the old Ozzy case where the kid shoots himself while listening to Suicide Solution? Back when I was younger, many times I had a Maiden shirt on and got asked if I worshipped satan!

Does rap make u want to bust some caps in people?

For me, it's entertainment, it doesn't hold a lot of influence. Maybe some are more easily influenced? I dont know?

MUSIC DOESNT INFLUENCE YOU AS MUCH AS YOU INFLUENCE YOUR MUSIC

let me explain:

the simplest example i can think of, if you worship satan.. you wont listen to christian music. if you're not a happy person you dont listen to happy music etc.

BUT...

music sharpens emotions.

i know im not the only one who's went through a nasty break up and not cried until i played a certain song, or been really angry and not threw over furniture untill i played "you know you're right"

thats my take on it.

All I know, is I was listening to MOFRO,.....and I ended up cooking some Fried Chicken...I couldn't help myself.
Then.....I was listening to CREED...and before I knew it, I was building a cage around myself.

Later on that day,.....I was having a garage sale while listening to The Red Hot Chili Peppers...and I just started GIVING EVERYTHING AWAY!!!
AAAHAHAHAHAAHHA
I couldn't control my own thoughts due to the influences in my head.

i think its circular. we influence music....then some one is touched and influenced by a piece of music...then maybe goes and writes a piece of music that is influenced by the previous piece, which influences someone else.......
