Famous, a big word.

What can you consider being famous?

If famous is so much of a big word, how can we really say that somebody has achieved the fame status, when can we say that that person is famous.

Elaborate on this statement.

That is tough, some people are legends in their own mind. Being famous to me would mean everyone knowing who you are. That is to say that you could be famous for bad reasons as well.

Seems like evil deeds make people more well known. Serial Killers, War tyrants, etc.. people can name off the top of their head, but say someone that helped humanity, most will have a hard time coming up with names.

There are some people who are famous no matter what....Oprah, Bill Gates...But other than that, fame depends on what you're interested in. To me, some of the most exciting people for me to meet would be Reggie Bush or Drew Brees and in some places they can't walk in the store. But, if you're not a sports fan and they walk in, you would treat them just like anyone else. Anyone agree?

That used to be called "infamous". Now it seems people have forgotten there's a difference between the two. Bad tends to get more attention than good so the line has become blurry to the public.
