Financial Rules of Dating

My good friend from back home has been dating this girl for quite some time now. Both are recent college grads and make pretty decent money. One thing I noticed is how he pays for everything when they go out. It doesn’t matter if it is dinner, a club, or a game…he always pays. So I asked him about it and he said it was just a “natural” thing to do.

Now, I wouldn’t consider my friend to be a pushover or a pussy, but would it be wrong of him to ask her about paying occasionally? Maybe when he gets the bill at a restaurant he should tell her to take care of it?

Focus: What are the financial rules of dating? Are there any important factors to figure in?

The Rules must be discussed prior to the date. Since they have been dating a while, she should show some consideration by picking up the check on her own. That should give him some insight on how it would be like if they were married. She sounds like a "what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine" type of girl. My advice: Kick her to the curb. ASAP. Don't spend another nickel on that money grubbing whore.

You might have to take into consideration other things like if she buys him gifts all the time or if she is picking up the bills.

In the begining, Lance paid for everything but then again he was making shit ton more money than I was with virtualy no bills. Now, I make more than he does. We live together, though, so we aren't exactly dating...But he pays for the fun stuff, I pay for the bills.

When it's a date type of thing, I like the guy to be the one paying, even if it's me handing him the cash for him to pay the bill. It kinda makes me look spoiled and I like that! Heh.

I pay for the first few dates just because but it is really cool when the girl actually makes an offer to pay. Once you are dating for awhile, I usually go by the you asked me out...you pay rule. Or if I buy dinner, you buy some drinks. It works out quite well.

His hooker is a just a spoiled little brat.

He didn't say if he ever asked her to pay or suggested that she pay. He just said he did it cause it was the natural thing to do. It would be perfectly alright for her to pay sometime. He just needs to allow her to do it. But, if she expects that he's going to do it all the time, why should she ever pull her wallet out. Now, if she actually EXPECTS him to do it and won't pay for anything then he does need to get rid of her because he's in for a life of supporting a money hungry bitch!

Whoever does the asking should do the paying....if she isn't offering to pay ever then she probably does need to be kicked to the curb. Especially if they have been dating a while. Both should pitch in. Then again, what do I know? I don't even date! Lol
