I first stared to come to this site because I was new to the area and was looking for other musicians.

Then me and some buddies started a band...
so i came on here to promote it and our gigs.

now i'm a moderator, so i have responsibility to this site to help keep it going.
plus, i owe this site as the #1 contributing factor to getting my first gig ever.

alas....
i have a million things going on in my life, like 90% of everyone else, so it makes it hard.

it is what it is from my end, but i do wish there was 40 hours in a day and 10 days in a week to help make this site compete.

I honestly think MySpace has alot to do with it.

I have made many friends through GCB as well.
I won't say enemies but my opinion has made some emotionally challenged people not speak to me when I see them out, and about, but thats cool they weren't much a friend to start with.
They wanted me to kiss their ass when they weren't shit to start with.
Fuck em they put their pants one leg at a time, and don't worry I won't ever stoop to suck ass.

You are right about bands and myspace vs GCB Matt.
I believe its on its way out.

The GCB community is still a strong force.

Let me pipe in here, this my expirence with a few of these bands in the local area. Lets get past the fact that some of these guys out there I do not enjoy the music but I try to support the local band scene. I have been ignored by people on this site while I attended their show I don't know if it was because they felt exactly as written above; they are or were too good; but I came away feeling like that. One regularly posts on myspace and a member of his band posts here almost daily. You know its kinda funny I see loads of "Look at me here" from those who have no right to "Look at me". Last week I purchased a Mustang and while thats not a reason to say look at me what I have to say does relate to this. There was a young man at Astro Ford also; yall can like him, hate him, say its all bullshit but he is a normal Bass Player for a band called 3 Doors Down. Not one bit of attitude or look at me, no self promotions, nothing and and this Bass Player has made it farther than any of us currently; like it or not. So when the bullshit settles after this thread dies, nothing will change we will still have the Look at me here on the coast by those who are no better than any one else. As for the site, its a good idea and I have personal reservations that a few select know so I will keep that to myself. What I will say like everywhere in the world there are those who feel that they have to pat themselves on the back to justify their lacking in other areas.

Ok I got lost there for a second. I have more conversations on here than I do on myspace. And I tell all my friends about gcb. But I guess they are shy.....???
