Rep Power: 51 | | | How did they do it?!
I walk in to work this morning and our AC is out. The compressor runs but no air what so ever (yeah, it's completely shut off now) It is so dang hot!! How were they able to do this 'back in the day'?
I didn't have ac in school, but it seems as if it wasn't this hot! |

We had the same problem this mornin Razz, I looked outside and everything in the compressor was froze up so these silly people turning it down only made it worse. I turned it completely off called the AC guy and he said he'll be here after lunch with Freon!

Rep Power: 51 | | | If it is frozen up,you should pull out the filter and turn the thermostat to fan only,this will move air across the evaporator coil and help it to defrost quicker.the "AC " guy can't do anything with the unit until it has defrosted,so by doing this you can get it repaired sooner.(trust me on this,I was the regional technical rep for Rheem/Ruud air conditioning for 7 years)
Also have the technician search for leaks if you are low on freon,freon doesn't evaporate inside a sealed system,so if it's low;then you have a leak somewhere...

But gas was like 65 cents a gallon and we bitched about that also........
