Too many pedals and effects. Its band practice, not a tapdance.
Get rid of everything except the wah pedal.

(sorry- partially joking- don't like wahs though...)
Actually, I think it's cool to experiment in the 'bedroom' or rehearsal studio. Throw everything in there to start with, then whittle away what doesn't work. Your ultimate goal is to be rehearsing with the same rig you'll gig with though, I would assume. All the tweaking and perfecting is with the intention of gigging, yah?
That seems like an awful lot of gear for the stage.
Is there another guitarist in the band, or just you? At what kind of venues and how long of a set are you planning on playing?
I'm all for having a little fun and experimenting in the rehearsal stages, but I think lugging that much gear around would be problematic for performing. |

As far as the chinese fire drill I don't think it would be too bad. My only real issue would be the A/B switch everything else should be easy to handle. All things considered this is not a huge footprint at all, they all evenly stack up on each other just a little height and a little room for the mic stands and the pedal board. Once this is fine tuned this will be the gig rig.
The keyboard player has two huge Hammond keys and a frigging Roland thats as big as a twin size bed and he knows how to use them. The Bass player has a Peavey half stack with 4X10's and the other gtr player has a Laney Half stack. The drum set is a huge Mapex and loads of PA equipment also between mains and subs. I was really lucky to fall into this situation. They had heard about me from another gtr player who audition but did not like the music style the band likes to play.
Some of the tunes we have down in two practices is Seek and Destroy, Born on the Bayou, Unchained, Burning Sky, Sister Luck, Synchronicity II, The Mob Rules, Heartbreaker, Those Shoes, The Seeker, Running down a dream, Everlong, Dirty white boy, My love is alive, Bitch, Hold the line and TV Dinners. Not bad for two weeks work. Except for Running down a dream I had to learn everyone of these songs and I finally found out how incorrect tab online really is......
So what do yall think about the list so far, some cool shit there.

dang man, I thought my band had the longest load-in around. You might give us a run for the money!
we've been working on shrinking our rig the past year or two, it gets old moving that much gear.
You have a dedicated sound-guy? |

It is not my goal to beat yall out in the most shit to move but whats that old saying if it sounds good do it..... lol We have 2 full size trucks, 2 SUV's and a Real Van to move the stuff around. Gotta love it. I would really hate it if this damn storm keeps coming.

His motto was "More is more" in those days..... it was the 80s and early 90s after all! |
