Playing private parties

Yea or nea?

I haven't gigged too many clubs, but seem to lean towards the private affairs myself. My little ensemble (We're called Three's A Charm btw) has been approached to play a party, the guy throwing it has offered us 300 bucks for 4 hours. I don't know if that's fair, but I'm all over it. Hell, we may go over 4 hours if it works out. It won't be for a while, so that'll give us more time to work up a couple more tunes.

private parties usually pay more than a bar. I would have asked for more.

Also depends on if they are friends of yours or not.
Are they feeding you? You drinkin' for free?
How many sets and how long are the breaks in between?
How much equip. you got to lug around?

Not a personal friend, but have known him for a few years. Real cool guy.

Food and drinks will be provided free.

Sets and breaks are to be determined by us. We'll probably go 10-12 songs for three sets, 15-20 min breaks. It's going to be mostly an acoustic affair.

As far as gear, the biggest stuff will be a couple of mains and the rack, the rest is small stuff.

We do little gigs at our friends houses a lot. Usually for free.
