Quiet Riot Singer Kevin duBrow found dead

LOS ANGELES - Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of the popular 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot, has been found dead from unknown causes at his home in Las Vegas, authorities said on Monday.

DuBrow, 52, was found dead at about 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, a spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner’s Office said. She said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

“I can’t even find the words to say,” Quiet Riot bandmate Frankie Banali said on his Web site. “Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend, Kevin DuBrow.”

Quiet Riot, which was founded in the mid-1970s, topped the Billboard charts in 1983 with the album “Metal Health,” spurred on by the massive hit single “Cum on Feel the Noize.”

The band has since endured break-ups and personnel changes but released a new album in 2006 and continued to tour sporadically.

For the record, Quiet Riot was the first American heavy metal band EVER to achieve a number one album.

Sad to hear; they were here in July and I didn't make the time to go. They toured a lot and I figured "next time".

i saw them when they were here. i kinda wished I would have stayed in line for a picture. Kevin got one but I was out looking for food.

I saw them in Ft. Lauderdale way back in the day. I think Wasp or someone opened for them. They were terrible. Their "signature" song at the time was "Fuck Like a Beast".

I saw them in "83" at the" Monsters of Rock" in Darmstadt,Germany.They were really on top of the scene then,They played with Ozzy,The Scorpions,Def Leppard,Judas Priest,And a little known band at the time called "Metallica???"there were some other bands involved,but I would have to climb into the attic to find my old concert ticket & photo album from that time period,to remember them.(Too much time and THC between then and now)...

I actually opened for them last month at the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores. They were nice guys. Kevin didnt' appear to be ill or in bad health; was walking around talking to everyone.
I was shocked when I heard this.

That would be awesome if you could post some of those old photos! I kind of "hated" Quiet Riot back in the day because apparently they had some "fued" with Motley Crue. I'm a dork, I know
